The dark mode is already used in many fancy applications. Many operating systems, browsers and chat services offer it. Davanti has also chosen the dark background for CORAX SaaS wms. We don’t just like it; there are also some other advantages which we’d like to share.
The Advantages of the Dark Mode
- Easy on your eyes
Watching a bright, white screen with a blue glow, all day long, causes dry and sore eyes for many people. A dark background with light numbers and letters gives peace to the eyes; it is less stressful.
- Battery Saver
Dark mode displays can extend the life of your device’s battery. For example, Google has confirmed that using dark mode on OLED screens will extend battery life. With a brightness of 50%, the dark mode interface in the YouTube app saves about 15% screen energy compared to a flat white background. With a screen brightness of 100%, the dark interface saves as much as 60% of the screen energy. OLED screens are mainly used by Android devices, although Apple has recently been catching up.
- It’s beautiful!
We think the dark mode looks super nice. While most products go for the familiar white look, dark mode offers more depth to graphic content such as charts and dashboards. Colors just seem to appear better on dark backgrounds. The table of contrast levels and performance of different color combinations emphasizes an interesting fact: the black part of the table is the only one that offers good contrast for almost all colors.

We look back on a successful Supply Chain Dinner with students from study association Asset | Strategy & Logistics of Tilburg University.
Our colleagues Bart Kanters, Bas Brohm and René Floor were very enthusiastic about the students they met. They have exchanged a lot of knowledge with them about our company and WMS. We would like to keep in touch with them!
We would like to invite our customers and relations to join us on Sunday May 17, 2020 with the 20th Abbey Tour La Trappe. The tour starts at the beautiful Trappist Abbey O.L.V. van Koningshoeven in Berkel-Enschot and leads through the beautiful, hospitable Brabant landscape of forests, fens, moors, meadows and small villages. A must for every cyclist. You can choose between:
– 35 km
– 65 km or
– 125 km.
With this bike tour we try to raise as much money as possible for Make-A-Wish. Davanti Warehousing has been committed to Make-A-Wish Netherlands for a number of years now. The aim of this foundation is to fulfill the life-changing wishes of children aged 3 to 18 with a serious, sometimes even life-threatening illness. We are happy to contribute to this. We will do our utmost to collect as much as possible to fulfill the deepest wishes of these young patients.
“If a child can believe that his wish will come true, then he can also believe that he is getting better.”
Do you have to be an experienced cyclist?
No! Whether you are a real cyclist or a recreational cyclist, if you are in a reasonable condition, you can cycle at least 35 km. The 125 km ride is a nice challenge for experienced cyclists. You can participate on a granny bike, a mountain bike or a road bike; everything is possible.
What do we offer?
- An unforgettable bike ride with a nice team through the beautiful countryside around Berkel-Enschot and Tilburg
- A fancy cycling jersey with our logos

In close collaboration with Koninklijke Mosa, we have written a case study on the implementation of CORAX SaaS WMS in 2 Mosa warehouses. You can first read the summary below or would you rather go straight to the case study? Then click here.
Royal Mosa BV has been producing a wide range of tiles for more than 135 years and markets them in more than 50 countries on four continents. Today, Mosa still designs, develops and produces its tiles in Maastricht, the Netherlands, the city where the company was founded in 1883.
Mosa has 2 warehouses, 1 in Beek and 1 in Brunssum. The processes are identical in both warehouses and in both CORAX SaaS WMS has been implemented. The logistics operation at the two locations is carried out by logistics service provider DSV.
It was decided to first implement the warehouse in Beek and then the warehouse in Brunssum. With the knowledge gained by Mosa from the Beek implementation, Mosa has largely implemented CORAX independently in Brunssum.
Thanks to its user-friendliness, CORAX can be learned quickly, both in terms of implementation and in daily use. Because Davanti uses the Train-the-Trainer principle, key users can, for example, train new colleagues very quickly.
“CORAX was selected from a longlist, shortlist and a demo by the suppliers of the 3 best WMS packages. The attractive cost model and the full cloud solution ultimately made the decision to choose CORAX. “
Ed Dziatkowiak MBA, Manager Warehousing Koninklijke Mosa BV
Both warehouses can be roughly divided into 2 parts: a part with block stacks and a part with front racks.
Mosa mainly receives tiles from its own factory in the warehouse. At the inbound it is determined whether they go to the block stack or to the front racks. In the outbound process, it is possible to dispatch full pallets as well as detailpick pallets.
Mosa uses dynamic picking areas where – based on item groups – different picking areas have been created.
Detailpick pallets are deposited at a control station where they are provided with a plastic cover after inspection. Depending on the type of order, full pallets are also brought to the control area or are immediately prepared for loading. Pallets that are provided with a plastic cover are also prepared for loading.

We would like to invite you to watch the video that was recorded during the Ecommerce Business Days (Webwinkel Vakdagen) where Davanti Warehousing was present with a booth in which we gave demo’s of CORAX SaaS WMS. We look back on a very successful exhibition where we have made many interesting contacts.
P&O Ferrymasters is a leading pan-European specialist that offers numerous tailor-made solutions in the field of transport, logistics and supply chain.
P&O Ferrymasters has formulated a strategic five-year plan, called Port Centric strategy. Storage becomes its own core activity again; Until recently, storage was rented from partners. P&O Ferrymasters is now broadening its base and in this way generating an additional source of income. Read more in this article: Nieuwsblad Transport.
Port Centric Warehousing
P&O Ferrymasters has meanwhile opened a warehouse in Rotterdam Europoort and a warehouse in the United Kingdom, close to London. The 2 warehouses have now been largely filled with goods from various customers. P&O Ferrymasters now sits at around 600,000 units on an annual basis. The starting point of the Port Centric strategy is to achieve a growth of 5 to 10% per year by widening the activities. So far P&O Ferrymasters is on course.
To gain real-time insight into the warehouses, P&O Ferrymasters started looking for a Warehouse Management System. P&O Ferrymasters first compiled a long list and then a short list. They were looking for a low-threshold WMS that can be implemented quickly and that can grow with their own growth. Since CORAX is a SaaS product, it can easily be scaled up and down. As the company grows, CORAX grows with it.
“The CORAX App is very user-friendly; you can work with both your smart phone and a logistics scanner. This makes starting up very easy.”
Niels van der Putten, General Manager Operations – Contract Logistics
The implementation time in the Dutch warehouse was two months, from blue print to live gait. Our CORAX consultants have made a blue print of the warehouse; a kind of inventory linked to how to organize the logistics flows in CORAX. Then a proposal was made for implementation and our people started working in close collaboration with the client. You can read here how to implement a CORAX implementation: Starting with CORAX.
Damage? Add a photo to the inbound order via the CORAX App!
To prevent defective goods from being unloaded, most logistics service providers do a quality check at the time of entry. If damage is found, you want to immediately report it to your supplier, preferably with a photo. If a lot of goods are handled every day, this can be a very labor-intensive process, which has adverse consequences for the speed of throughput.
With the CORAX App, quality control is very simple. You prevent delays during inbound, storage and outbound and you prevent discussions with the owner of the goods. You also prevent goods from being delivered with damage.
How does it work? Read more.
Davanti was present with a stand at the Webwinkel Vakdagen that took place on January 29 and 30 at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. We look back on a very successful event.
Because CORAX SaaS wms connects extremely well with the e-commerce market, we thought it would be a good opportunity to get in touch with the market. We have noticed that there is a great demand for control over the stock and more efficient use of the warehouse. Our WMS is very suitable for this market with its own needs.
It is very nice to meet companies that have a need that we can fulfill with our software. We also noticed in many conversations with visitors, that companies that now work with a WMS module of ERP suite or a lean WMS, cannot get along well after a while.
If you don’t have progress with your company, then of course it will be fine, but if your company grows, you will run into the shortcomings. We don’t want to be bragging, but the great thing about CORAX is that it’s scalable, so you can work with 2 users as well as with 50. Because of the scalability, the software can easily grow along and that makes it suitable for every phase of your business.
A video was made at the fair in which our account manager Astrid Rotsteeg was interviewed. The interview will be online soon.
